Medical Massage Therapy
Medical massage Therapy or "Medically Necessary" refers to special medical massage techniques used in the treatment of medical problems resulting from trauma to the body caused by work-related, automobile injuries, slips and falls or other types of accidents. Some of these could include Rotator Cuff Injuries, Back Pain and Headaches, others could include general muscle pain caused by repetitive motions, sprains/strains and sports/exercise related injury. Medical massage therapy is usually initiated upon referral from a chiropractic physician or your medical doctor, and may include advanced myofascial and deep tissue massage techniques, stretching, hydrotherapy hot/cold packs), and cupping therapy to the affected joints and muscles for the purpose of reducing pain, improving mobility and accelerating the healing process. Medical Massage can be billed to your insurance when a prescription is written. Your massage therapist will do a thorough intake evaluation and develop a plan with the most appropriate treatment for your injury. Your therapist will document your progress and work closely with your other health care providers to provide you with the best possible care.
